Why Little Kiddos Music?
EVIDENCE-BASED EARLY MUSIC EDUCATION
As a kiddo, I used to line up my stuffed animals and teach and sing to them. Fast forward many years, and now I get to teach and sing to humans from ages 1–103. Dreams really do come true!
In my early years as a music teacher, I transitioned from elementary and middle school music to teaching babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. That’s when I had an ah-ha moment:
Everything I was teaching older students — music vocabulary, rhythm, theory — could absolutely be taught to early learners, even as young as one!
I had to use the right way to teach music to little learners. And there is a right way.
Early childhood is the perfect phase of life to learn a new language — and music is a language.
But it quickly became about more than just music. I began to see the incredible developmental growth that happens when children experience high-quality, evidence-based early childhood music education during the critical ages of 1–6.
That’s why I created Little Kiddos Music Academy — to give parents and educators access to the highest quality early childhood music education in a safe, joyful, and developmentally appropriate way.
Why Evidence-Based Early Childhood Music Education Matters
The first six years of life are the most powerful window for brain development. Neural pathways responsible for language, literacy, math, motor skills, and emotional regulation are forming rapidly.
Research consistently shows that high-quality music education strengthens:
- Language development and vocabulary
- Early literacy skills
- Mathematical pattern recognition
- Fine and gross motor coordination
- Emotional regulation
- Social connection and cooperation
When children sing, move, and play instruments, multiple areas of the brain activate simultaneously. Music becomes a full-brain learning experience — not just enrichment.
But not all children’s music programs are created equal.
How Little Kiddos Music Is Different
Little Kiddos Music Academy classes are intentionally designed using proven early childhood education principles.
🎵 Play-Based Learning
Young children learn best through play. Classes are interactive, movement-rich, and hands-on so children actively participate rather than passively watch.
🪘 Hands-On Instrument Play
Little Kiddos Musicians don’t just sing — they play. Every class includes at least two instruments such as shakers, bells, rhythm sticks, or drums (many can be DIY!). Instrument-play strengthens fine motor skills, rhythm recognition, coordination, and auditory processing.
📖 Storytelling, Structure & Repetition
Children thrive on routine! We use repetition and predictable class structure to build musical understanding and vocabulary in a way that feels safe and joyful.
💃 Movement & Kinesthetic Learning
Intentional movement supports gross motor development while reinforcing musical concepts.
🧠 Developmentally Appropriate Music Education
We incorporate real music vocabulary and foundational theory in ways toddlers and preschoolers can truly understand.
This is structured, high-quality early childhood music education — not background entertainment.
Safe, Low-Stimulation Online Music Classes for Toddlers & Preschoolers
In today’s digital world, much of children’s content is loud, fast-paced, and overstimulating.
Little Kiddos Music Academy was intentionally designed differently.
Our virtual music classes provide:
- Age-appropriate visuals
- Calm, focused pacing
- Active participation
- A safe online environment
Children feel like they’re right in the classroom with Ms. Jenny — engaged, connected, and supported.
Plus, caregivers receive additional low-stimulation, off-screen printables and resources to continue learning beyond the class.
The Lifelong Benefits of High-Quality Early Childhood Music Education
Evidence-based music education in the early years builds skills that last a lifetime.
Through Little Kiddos Music classes, early learners gain:
- Stronger language development
- Improved reading readiness
- Better math foundations
- Fine and gross motor skills
- Improved classroom focus
- Emotional resilience and regulation
- Greater self-confidence
High-quality, age-appropriate music education shouldn’t be a luxury.
My goal is simple: to build music minds through play, rhythm, and rhyme — and in the process, equip little learners with the foundational skills they need for lifelong success. Because it really is about more than just music.
